Gaug’s “Get Right for Finals Week” Mix-Tape

There’s nothing I enjoy more than making a mix. Okay, that’s a lie. But I do really enjoy it. Whether its exposing a good song or artist or just getting an emotion out that you can’t say yourself, it’s good stuff.

That said, many of my friends in college are entering those last few weeks where staring at Rihanna doesn’t count as a foreign study and watching “The Hills” won’t mean much in Music as a World Phenomenon.

So I have compiled a mix of songs that I found appropriate listening when studying as they’re not mind-numbingly dull or too intrusive. This is just a short list but was the best I could think of at the moment. I have left off perennial favorites like Coldplay and Norah Jones because it’s almost common knowledge that they’re good studying music. You could also try anything by Sigur Ros or the Cinematic Orchestra’s “Ma Fleur,” but you also run the risk of falling asleep at the book.

Anywho, hopefully these won’t put you to sleep and if they do, just pretend this is my “Get Right for Bedtime” Mix-Tape.

Tracklist:

1. The Hush Sound “The Artist”
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers “Someone”
3. John Mayer “Neon”
4. Bush “Letting the Cables Sleep”
5. Jimmy Eat World “Drug or Me (Styrofoam Remix)”
6. Pinback “Penelope”
7. Scott Weiland “But Not Tonight”
8. Styrofoam featuring Ben Gibbard of the Postal Service/Death Cab “Couches in Alleys”
9. 311 “I’ll Be Around Awhile (acoustic)”
10. Sufjan Stevens “To Be Alone With You”
11. Foo Fighters /f/ Kaki King “The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners”
12. Death Cab for Cutie “405 (acoustic)”

If this goes down and you still want it, I can re-up it. Btw, listen to “Penelope” – it’s probably the most beautiful song ever written.

Lol, so where’s your Colbie Caillat and her “Bubbly” song?
