The Andrewblaug Mixtape for the Broken Hearted

So I had this big blog about songs that help deal with breaking up and all that jazz, only to realize that WordPress (the owners of this blog) don’t allow any Flash to be used, which is what my music player utilizes. That is, of course, unless you build the blog yourself. So, I guess I’ll have to figure that out.

Until then, I had to post this on a blog that actually allows posts that play music (disregard other posts on that blog).

So if you would care to read it as well as listen to some good, depressing music to help you get over that special heartbreak ———-> GO HERE <————-

I really enjoyed your break-up mix, a lot of the songs I hadn’t heard before (or for a long time) and I admit - they were all pretty good (yes, yes you have better music taste than me). Also a good realization about the healing power of music (aside from the sad country songs you hear all day).

you missed one very important breakup song. the mack daddy of all songs that make your stomach fill with glass every time you hear it.

Last Goodbye
Jeff Buckley

yea it’s on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack but who cares? Jeff Buckley is the son of late folk musician Tim Buckley, who died at 28. Jeff had the same fate of dying young. he drowned at the age of 30, and this song I feel is his legacy.

i have very painful memories attached to that song, but when i listen to it now, years later, it still gives me shivers.

oh and download “Heavy Metal” by Don Felder, that’s good stuff too ^^
